Since many kids in our communities need help getting school supplies, ICCU team members decided to conduct a friendly competition to see which department or branch could raise the most money and school supplies to donate to local elementary schools in the Pocatello area. Team captain Aaron McCabe stated, “It is hard to imagine that so many local children are struggling and going without many of their basic needs beings met. With so many distractions in learning, it’s hard to get ahead if you don’t have the fundamental tools to excel.” McCabe also stated, “When we deliver the boxes of school supplies, you can feel the appreciation from the teachers and staff.” The ICCU school supply drive collected more than 3,000 items plus additional money for several schools to buy any supplies that they were missing.
